We are very happy and eager to announce that Dave M. Allen ( The Cure, Reptile Youth…), producer of our album Da, will once again work with us producing and mixing our eighth album.
We will be recording between July and August at Tio Pete Studios in Urduliz and the album will be mixed in London at Studio 7 by Dave M. Allen himself and we also repeat the mastering with Andy ‘Hippy’ Baldwin at Metropolis Studios in London. We are longing to share this new stage with you all, but we will have to wait until November this year to see our eighth album out, besides Zea Mays turn twenty next year…

On November the 7th we are going to launch our 7th album entitled ‘DA’ (it is), at the press conference which will be held at the Kafe Antzokia in Bilbao.The 13 track album has been produced by Dave M. Allen. It has been recorded in the Basque Country, at Tio Pete Studios with Jose Lastra as Sound Engineer. Dave has mixed the album at Club Ralph Studios in London and Andy “Hippy” Baldwin has mastered it at Metropolis Studios in London. From November the 7th the albun will be available on our web site, on our Bandcamp (http://zeamays.bandcamp.com/merch), on CD or downloadable format. At the Durango Basque Book and CD/Record fair ( from the 5th to the 8th of December) it will be available at our own stand, and from the 9th of December onwards it will be in the shops, digital platforms and our shows. As a taster, tonight at 22:00 (GMT+1) we will upload two tracks to our Bandcamp (http://zeamays.bandcamp.com).
We have just mixed our 7th album. The album was mixed by Dave M.Allen at
Club Ralph Studios in London.We have been privileged to have the
opportunity to mix our new album with a historical desk, of Conny Plank,
producer of Krafwert.Bands like The Mission, Hot Chip and more
recently Franz Ferdinand have mixed their albums with this desk.The
mastering will be carried out next week also in London. We are eager to
release it but for now we have to wait a bit. More news soon. Zea Mays da.
On July 15th we’re going to start the recording of our seventh studio album at Tio Pete in Urduliz (Basque Country). We’ve decided to work with a producer, which is very exciting for us, and we feel really fortunate since he is none other than Dave M. Allen, well-known for producing some of the most successful albums of The Cure, as “Kiss me, kiss me, kiss me” and “Disintegration”. Also he’s worked with Depeche Mode, The sisters of Mercy, Neneh Cherry and more recently Reptile Youth.
After the recording, we’ll mix and master the album in London.
